Valvoline Instant Oil Change

I recently visited this Valvoline for an oil change, and while I was there, I witnessed an interaction between employees that was concerning enough that I feel compelled to leave a review. During my visit, I observed an employee being repeatedly yelled at and spoken to in a very disrespectful manner by a coworker over what appeared to be relatively minor mistakes. There was also profanity and an unnecessarily hostile tone. What was even more concerning was seeing similar behavior from an assistant manager toward the same employee. I understand that automotive service can be a fast-paced and stressful environment, and employees are going to make mistakes. However, there is a big difference between providing constructive feedback and repeatedly yelling at, cursing at, or belittling someone. From a customer's perspective, it made the workplace atmosphere uncomfortable to witness. I also became concerned hearing discussion surrounding employee performance and numbers in a way that seemed unnecessarily negative and potentially unfair. I'm leaving this review not to attack anyone personally, but because I believe customers and prospective employees should be aware of the environment

The Valvoline in Altoona PA is efficient and great customer service. They inform you of different services they offer and try to keep your car up to date so you don't have any issues. I definitely recommend.

First time stopping at this Valvoline for an oil change. They had me wait in the car which I thought was odd, since it was quite warm, around 80deg. And I was in for the service about 40 minutes. But it turns it I'm glad I was in the car. The crew had a very difficult time with the oil filter on my car. The car was rocking several times and I could hear them struggling. When the tech came out from the pit he said it took two of them to force it in there and get it tightened. I asked point blank if everything is alright and and everything is done okay and they cross threaded anything. The workers advised everything was fine. I also requested a tire rotation, but I was told they could not do that becaue it was too hot and the lug nuts were swollen... At this point I didn't care and actually preferred they didn't. I checked my oil levels and looked at the oil filter when I go home. Oil level seems to be fine, however there looks like there is damage on whatever is next to the oil filter. Also there was oil hand prints all over my hood and on the engine cover. I cannot recommend this location for an oil change and will not be returning

So, I am a full time worker that supports myself. Living paycheck to paycheck is no fun, especially when I know I have needed an oil change for the last 10,000 miles. Something told me to come to Valvoline. (I've always liked Valvoline) I had a coupon that had already expired, and Chris at the Altoona location was a life savor! The cost, without a coupon, was more than I could afford. Chris took it upon himself to search for current coupons, and saved me $30! Customer service was amazing- I will be coming back every time! Thank you all, esp. Chris!
